The Sport Industry Coalition is a coalition of over 70 member organisations involved in the mass participation sports industry, an industry that has been devastated by the pandemic. Mass participation sporting events in 2019 attracted over 4.2 million participants, including inbound travellers supporting the sports tourism sector, which contributed over RM550 million in economic impact.
However, in the last 12 months that figure has shrunk to just over 20,000 participants. CG, Azman and WS, walk us through the issues and the strategy on how mass participation sports can be restarted in Malaysia.
