Flying Cape is a Singapore-based edtech startup that develops a global distribution system for learners and education providers.
In collaboration with academics they developed their proprietary SMART diagnostic method to help customers find the best-fit programmes through tailored suggestions based on their unique needs.
Since then, the startup has expanded its portfolio of business-to-consumer and business-to-business edtech services and solutions based on verified research, data, and analytics, as well as its experience in customised education.
Jamie Tan, the CEO and founder of Flying Cape gives an overview of the business and how she bootstrapped the business and the story behind setting up Flying Cape. She also points out the key challenges in the industry they are trying to address and the products and services they offer, in addition, she tells us the market segments they cater to and their key customers.
As, Covid-19 has significantly impacted the education landscape. During this period, many local education players in Singapore have evolved, and emerged with creative and innovative digitised content and engaging learning approaches to better prepare students for the future, Jamie points out the kind of emerging trends and explains what makes them different from other edtech companies.
With the recently raised US$1.5 million in Series A funding, Jamie shares on how they will deploy the new funding to scale its operations in China and Southeast Asia. She says the money raised will enable them to accelerate their growth to a few more markets over the next three to four years, strengthen their base in Singapore and China, and build an educational ecosystem which can bring the best of Singapore’s education curriculum and content to global learners.
