In today’s world, natural disasters and political conflict are not always clearly divided. Humanitarian drones have become more and more widely used in these complex environments as their benefits are apparent; they are an inexpensive and relatively easy-to-use way to collect valuable aerial data during disasters and have become a means to deliver critical aid to areas in locked locations where supply routes have been cut off.
Our recent conversation with Lionel Sinai-Sinelnikoff, Founder and CEO of Ascent, sheds light on how his Singapore-based startup which powers Air Mobility in Asia is providing assistance via drones to the people of Ukraine.
Championed through Ascent Charity, the company’s non profit outfit arm, the organisation is on a mission to provide vital humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine through its Ukraine Aid Initiative by Drones (U-AID) initiative. This includes bringing critical medical supplies such as drugs, food and blood to targeted locations, such as obstructed locations, hospitals, humanitarian corridors, border checks and logistic hubs.
During the conversation, Lionel speak about:
- Ascent Charity’s reason for being and what it has been set up to do.
- Its Ukraine Aid Initiative by Drones (U-AID) initiative, including an overview of how it is funded and supported as well as the longevity of this effort.
- What the organisation has achieved to date in its efforts to provide aid to the growing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
- How individuals and corporations can play a role in contributing to its humanitarian cause.
