Yayasan Chow Kit is a non-profit organisation that caters to the needs of children and teenagers in and around the Chow Kit area in Kuala Lumpur, providing a safe space and to expose the children to as many positive opportunities to allow each child to reach their full potential.
They operate in partnership with Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, and a group of strategic partner comprises of Foundations, corporate companies as well as NGOs.
Founder Dato’ Dr. Hartini Zainudin, who is a child activist serves as the Head of Advocacy and Funding as well as the Outreach program in Chow Kit. She is also the Vice President of Voice of the Children, a local NGO that does advocacy work, law and policy reforms and training on children’s issues.
During the interview, Dr. Hartini shares the story behind Yayasan Chow Kit and the work she does. She also talks about:

- The work she does on the ground and the trends she witnessed before, and during this pandemic
- The recently concluded Hasanah Forum 2021, themed People & Society – Strengthening from the Bottom-up. She highlights some of the key takeaways from her participation in the forum.
