The Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia (APHM) is an association representing private hospitals and medical centers in Malaysia since 1972, with over 100 members throughout the country.
Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, President of APHM, talks about what the association does and how they have been engaging with the government over the years.
He also talks about the gaps that were exposed in the healthcare system because of the pandemic, and what they have learnt and how they should improve.
Dr Kuljit speaks about the recent government’s announcement on private hospitals taking in non-Covid patients from public hospitals. He also gives his thoughts on the current contract doctors issue, the pros and cons of telemedicine and APHM’s plans moving forward.
