Recently, Russell Reynolds Associates published the 2020 Malaysian Board Practices Review Report, a study in collaboration with the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and Bursa Malaysia on Malaysian Board Practices of Publicly listed companies on Bursa Malaysia.
The study examines the effectiveness of prevailing industry practices related to board selection, the nomination and appointment processes and board evaluation.
Stephen, the Managing Director at Russel Reynolds Associates, talks about how different the findings from the Malaysian study compared to the global survey findings and also why inclusion and diversity in boardrooms matter for the long term resilience of businesses He gives his views on how different these practices are in Malaysia compared to elsewhere in the world.
