Plant-based meat has seen strong demand in the West and is now gaining momentum in Asia. According to a report, the plant-based meat market in the US to exceed US$2.6 billion by 2027. It is seen as an emerging trend among the millennial and Gen Z consumers, as they understand the sustainability and health aspects and are willing to reduce their consumption of meat, and dairy products.
Launched in October 2020, Next Gen Foods, a Singapore-based food tech startup that develops and commercialises innovative and sustainable plant-based food products has been making waves in the plant-based business environment.
Alex Ward, the chief operating officer of Next Gen Foods, gives an overview of the startup, and how they differentiate themselves from the other big established players in the same space. He also talks about:
- the flagship product TiNDLE; how it is more nutritionally beneficial compared to normal chicken
