- The implications of a strengthening US dollar in Asia.
- Asian banks results;
i) DBS Group Holdings, the largest, recorded earnings of S$1.8 billion (about RM5.66 billion) versus S$2 billion reported for 1QFY21. Revenue for the same period was down 3% y-o-y at S$3.7 billion.
ii) Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp reported a 10% y-o-y dip in earnings for 1QFY22, on the back of a 9% dip in revenue for the same period, thanks to softer fee income.
iii) United Overseas Bank, meanwhile, reported earnings of S$906 million on lower non-customer-related trading and investment income, with lower general allowance write-back.
- Outlook for Asian markets.
