Apple reported that USD1.8 billion was spent on digital products and services at the App Store between Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
According to Eddy Cue, Apple Senior Vice President of Internet software and services, Apple services brought an impact to the life of the users in big and small ways every day, customers around the world found inspiration and value in the width and quality of it.
Cue also commented that they’re incredibly optimistic about where they’re headed, and they believe that the opportunities for developers and the creative community are endless, as are the positive and meaningful benefits to their customers.
The most downloaded apps at the App Store last year that were written in the list was the video conferencing app Zoom and the Disney+ app for entertainment giant’s streaming television service due to the pandemic had people to work and stay from home, and education from home.
On New Year’s Day, the App Store hit a new single-day record of more than USD540 million, according to Apple.
Games with the hot titles like “Among Us” and “Roblox” were the main drivers for the record sales.
