According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 4 people experiences mental illness at some point in their lives. Depression, one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, makes up 4.3% of the global disease burden. However, despite the alarming statistics, mental health is a highly stigmatized and largely ignored problem in Malaysia and is often regarded as an afterthought.
