The Australian Investment Council is the leading voice of private capital in Australia. Private capital investment has played a central role in the growth and expansion of thousands of businesses, which when combined represents a multi-billion dollar contribution to the Australian economy.
They work with their member companies to lead the industry by advocating on important policy issues, providing their members with cutting-edge information and data, and creating an environment in which members can form transformative relationships to drive investment in Australian companies.
Their members include private equity, venture capital and private credit funds, alongside institutional investors such as superannuation and sovereign wealth funds, as well as leading financial, legal and operational advisers.
In our conversation with Yasser El-Ansari, who is the Chief Executive of AIC, he gives us an overview of what the Australian Venture Capital and Private Equity landscape looks like. Yasser explains how they engage their various stakeholders, and what the size of the industry is in terms of capital.
He also walks us through the regulatory landscape and how government policy is fostering the innovation economy in Australia.
Furthermore, Yasser shares additional insights on the sectors which Australia’s innovation is strongest and stresses that it is in fact something that should be promoted more.
